Seafood Prices: Three Dishes, Six Portions

Seafood Prices: Three Dishes, Six Portions

The Dockside Favorites section is small — three dishes — but two of them come in two sizes, giving six priced options from $14.99 to $19.99.

It also contains the only entrée on the menu carrying meaningful omega-3s.

The six options

Grilled Salmon 5oz at $15.99 and 410 calories, or 8oz at $19.99 and 560. Grilled Shrimp Dinner at $16.99 and 670 calories. Fried Catfish 3-piece at $14.99 and 990 calories, or 4-piece at $16.99 and 1,170.

The catfish upgrade is one of the more honest ratios on the menu: the fourth piece adds $2 and 180 calories, which is proportionate to what you get.

The salmon upgrade adds 3oz for $4 and 150 calories.

What each one is for

Grilled Salmon at 5oz and 410 calories is one of the lighter mains available, and the only entrée bringing omega-3s. If that matters to you nutritionally, there is no substitute elsewhere on the menu.

The Grilled Shrimp Dinner at 670 calories is served over seasoned rice with garlic lemon pepper butter. The butter and rice account for more of the total than the shrimp does, so swapping the rice for a vegetable side makes it the lightest seafood option.

Fried Catfish at 990 calories for three pieces is the heaviest of the three and the cheapest at $14.99. Southern cornmeal breading, U.S. farm-raised.

  • Cheapest — Fried Catfish 3-piece, $14.99
  • Lightest — Grilled Salmon 5oz, 410 cal
  • Most expensive — Grilled Salmon 8oz, $19.99
  • Heaviest — Fried Catfish 4-piece, 1,170 cal
  • Best upgrade ratio — catfish 4th piece, $2 for 180 cal

Shrimp elsewhere on the menu

Grilled Shrimp also appears as a $7.99 starter at 360 calories — the lightest starter on the menu by a wide margin.

And it appears in six of the twelve Texas Size Combos, paired with sirloin, ribeye or filet. Sirloin 6oz with Grilled Shrimp at $19.99 and 610 calories is the lightest combo pairing on the board.

That gives shrimp an unusual spread across the menu — it is simultaneously the lightest starter, a full entrée, and half of six different combos. If you want seafood without committing to a seafood entrée, the combos are the more interesting route.

Salmon, by contrast, appears in only one other place: the Grilled Salmon Salad at $15.99, which swaps the chicken in the standard salad for a 5oz fillet for $2.50 more and 20 additional calories. On a per-calorie basis that is the better protein of the two, though the salad itself is 830 calories before you account for anything else.
