Low-Carb and Keto Ordering

Grilled meat with a dry seasoning and a vegetable side is close to an ideal low-carb restaurant meal, and it describes a large share of this menu.
Two things quietly break it, and neither is obvious from reading the board.
What works well
Any hand-cut steak with the standard seasoning. The 6oz sirloin at 250 calories, the ribeye at any size, the filet, the Porterhouse — all are just beef and rub.
Grilled BBQ Chicken is the exception among the chicken dishes, since BBQ sauce carries sugar. Herb Crusted Chicken at 260 calories is the better low-carb pick, as is Smothered Chicken with jack cheese rather than gravy.
Grilled Salmon and Grilled Shrimp both work, though the shrimp dinner is served over rice, so ask for a vegetable side instead.
Sides: green beans at 100, fresh vegetables at 190, sautéed mushrooms at 120, sautéed onions at 150, and a House Salad without croutons.
- Best entrée — any hand-cut steak, plain seasoning
- Best chicken — Herb Crusted, not BBQ
- Best sides — green beans, sautéed mushrooms, fresh vegetables
- Best add-on — Smother Your Steak with mushrooms or jack cheese
- Ask for — no rolls at the table
The two things that break it
The free bread. Rolls with honey cinnamon butter arrive before you order anything and are refilled without asking. They are the single most common way a low-carb meal here goes wrong, precisely because nobody ordered them. Asking the server not to bring them is the simplest fix.
BBQ sauce and marinades. Anything described as BBQ carries sugar — the Grilled BBQ Chicken, the pulled pork, the ribs, and half the combos. Ribs in particular read as pure protein and are glazed in sauce.
Swaps worth making
Swap the default potato or rice for green beans or fresh vegetables. Both are $2.99 like everything else, so there is no cost to the change.
Smother Your Steak at $2.29 with mushrooms or jack cheese adds richness for very few carbohydrates — a better fit than brown gravy, which is thickened.
On the burgers, the bun and the fries are the entire problem. Some kitchens will serve a burger without the bun with a vegetable side, which is worth asking about.
Frequently asked
Can I order a burger without the bun?
Worth asking. Kitchens vary, but a patty with a vegetable side in place of fries is a common accommodation.
Are the ribs low carb?
No. They are glazed in BBQ sauce, which carries sugar, despite reading as pure protein.
What about the steak seasoning?
A dry rub of salt, pepper and spices. Some steakhouse blends include a small amount of sugar for crust formation, but the quantity per steak is negligible.
